STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Georgia educator will join the Starkville School District as the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.
Dr. Judy Woodrum was hired after the board reviewed 20 applicants and interviewed six finalists for the position.
Woodrum retired in February while serving as an assistant superintendent in Bulloch County, Georgia school system.
Superintendent Lewis Holloway says Dr. Woodrum has a comprehensive understanding of Measures of Academic Progress testing, Fast ForWord, and Reading Street.
He says that experience combined with her experience as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent make her a great fit for the position.
Woodrum will begin work immediately.
