STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A man from Hamilton is now facing charges, in connection with a fire that happened on October 24 in Starkville.
Investigators say Christopher Lee Steed, 35, started a fire at a house on Louisville Street.
According to police, Steed told investigators he started the fire in the master bedroom by lighting a roll of toilet paper with a match and dropping it in a recliner before leaving the residence.
Steed is the owner of the dwelling but does not reside there.
On Wednesday, October 31, Steed submitted to a polygraph, in which he failed.
The dwelling was unoccupied at the time of the arson.
Bond was set at $5,000.
