STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Starkville Police Chief David Lindley has been elected as chairman of a regional group of law enforcement agencies.
On Tuesday, officials confirmed his selection as the Southern Regional Chair for the International Association of Chiefs of Police, State Association of Chiefs of Police Division.
Lindley will serve a two-year term and represent Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
SACOP is a coodinating body between the seperate state Associations of Chief of Police to the IACP.
The association helps in various matters include crime reduction, equipment needs, highway safety, communications systems, and training.
