STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Authorities in Starkville say a man is behind bars facing some serious charges, following a lengthy investigation.
According to investigators, Yoginder Dandass, 45, of Starkville was arrested on Monday, July 22, by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say Dandass is accused of sexually assaulting his adopted daughter at their residence.
This abuse is alleged to have started shortly after his daughter was adopted from an orphanage in Russia in 2005 and continued until the summer of 2012.
Dandass was indicted in July 2013 by the Oktibbeha county grand jury for sexual battery.
His bond was set at $50,000.
Dandass is currently a professor in the Computer Sciences Department of Mississippi State University.
