MSU police chief to head statewide association

MISSISSIPPI STATE (WTVA) -- The head of the Mississippi State Police Department is the new president of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police.

Georgia Lindley was elected to serve in the position for the 2013-2014 term during the association's conference in Biloxi.

Lindley has served with the MSU Police Department for 34 years and became the first female to lead the department when she was appointed chief in 2005.

Lindley is married to Starkville Police Chief David Lindley, a past president of the association.
