STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Finance and business students at Mississippi State University are getting a lab designed to incorporate technologies that brokerage houses and portfolio management companies use in decision-making.

The college dedicated the Strategic Finance Laboratory this past week.

The lab includes stock tickers and television broadcasts of current news. All business students will have access to regular lab hours beginning in the spring semester.

University President Mark Keenum said the lab brings a touch of Wall Street to Starkville.

Business College Dean Sharon Oswald said the lab was privately funded, including alumni contributions.

The university's student portfolio management team will use the lab to manage a $400,000 portfolio for the Tennessee Valley Authority.
