COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- The former chief financial officer for the Mississippi Development Authority is bringing his experience to the Golden Triangle Development Link.

Joseph Deason will join the three-county group as chief operating officer and president of economic development for Starkville and Oktibbeha County.

Deason worked with MDA from 2006 thru 2010 and has a long career in the automotive industry and most recently worked for a Tunica company specializing in stainless steel pipes and extrusions for use in the energy and aerospace industry.

Link officials say Deason will handle legislation pertaining to the regional development effort, assist in the development of financing packages and serve as the head developer for Starkville-Oktibbeha County.
