JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Supreme Court has denied a request to review the conviction and sentence handed down in an Oktibbeha County murder case.

Jimmie Collier, 36, pleaded guilty in 2007 to the murdger of Cora Selvie, 34.

Selvie was found shot to death along Sun Creek Road near Clay County in April of 2005.

Authorities say she had been shot several times.

Collier was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

He appealed claiming the prosecution and his attorney agreed the sentence would be life with the possibility of parole if he pleaded guilty.

The Mississippi Court of Appeals upheld his conviction and sentence in April.
