STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — A strategic planning process is underway in one local county.
Oktibbeha County, Starkville and the Greater Starkville Development Partnership are involved in strategic planning and an assessment for the city and county.
County supervisors went through an individual session Tuesday to brainstorm ideas under the guidance of the Stennis Institute at Mississippi State University to develop a plan to help grow the city and county.
Also discussed were the short-term and long-term impacts of growth and sustainability.
"I think we have some possibilities and a lot of potential," said Orlando Trainer, county supervisor. "Of course, you know you won't be able to solve all your problems in one or two sessions, but I think with today what we'll do is get the ball rolling and try to get something down that we can agree on."
In March, all three parties plan to meet and exchange ideas on the best ways to move the city and the county forward together.
