STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- The city of Starkville is targeting another area for designation as a historic district.
Tuesday night, the Board of Aldermen will consider a request by the Historic Perservation Commission to create the Nash Street Historic District.
The board will consider whether to hold a public hearing on the creation of the district and the design standards at a meeting on May 21, 2013.
The Nash Street district would run along the roadway between University Avenue and College View Drive.
If approved, homeowners would have to get approval from the SHPC on some projects in respect to adding new buildings or expanding existing homes.
Officials say the plan is to maintain the historic view of the district.
