JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation says drivers in Lowndes and Noxubee County need to be aware of a change on Highway 45 between Columbus and Brooksville.
On Wednesday, MDOT will shift traffic from the current roadway to newly paved stretch of road from Brooksville to Carson Road.
The switch will take place at 8 a.m.
Phillips Contracting of Columbus is working on the widening project and the newly paved lanes will become the southbound lanes of the highway once the project is complete.
The nearly $18 million paving project is scheduled to be finished by March of 2014.
