LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Department of Transportation said several highways will close temporarily due to railroad repairs in Noxubee and Kemper counties.

MDOT said drivers should prepare to take detours around the areas.

On February 1, Highway 14 and 39 will close at Highway 145 in Noxubee County starting at 6 a.m.

Motorists driving on Highway 14 from Macon to Louisville can take Highway 45 S. to Scooba, then Highway 16 W. to Philadelphia and last Highway 15 N. to Louisville as a detour.

On Sunday, Highway 16, one-tenth of a mile west of Highway 45 in Kemper County, will also be temporarily closed starting at 6 a.m.

Drivers headed to Philadelphia from Scooba on Highway 16 can take Highway 45 N. to Macon to Highway 14 W. to Louisville and then Highway 15 S. to reach Philadelphia.

MDOT said the repair work should conclude at midnight on both days.
