(WTVA) -- Results are in on Tuesday's special election to fill an open state House seat.
All 18 precincts have reported in the election to fill the House District 36 seat left vacant by the passing of Representative David Gibbs in January.
District 36 includes parts of Clay, Lowndes and Monroe counties.
Unofficial results project Karl Gibbs as the winner with 28 percent of the vote.
Eddie Longstreet and Jeannie Johnson Staten both came in behind Gibbs. Each had 22 percent of the vote.
However, Longstreet had more votes than Staten. Because of that, Longstreet will advance to the April 2 runoff with Gibbs.
