ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Monroe County Sheriff Department is asking the public to donate any old bicycles that you might have.

The department is planning to take the old bicycles to the jail inmates, who will then refurbish them.

Their mission is to have enough bikes refurbished to give away at Christmas time.

They are also welcoming any donations of new bicycles to give away as well.

If you have bicycles that you would like to donate please drop them off at Monroe County Sheriff’s Department at 700 North Meridian Street in Aberdeen.

You can drop the bicycles off Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m. until 4:30p.m.
