MONROE CO., Miss. (WTVA) -- One man is dead, after being involved in a single vehicle crash on Highway 45 in Monroe County.
It happened near the Lowndes County line around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Authorities say the driver of a white 2010 Hyundai Elantra was traveling south when the car left the road and crossed over the north bound lanes.
The vehicle entered a pond on the east side of the highway.
The driver, 38 year old Antonio Moore from Columbus was pronounced dead at the scene around 5:20 a.m. by the Monroe County coroner.
The cause of dead has been determined to be freshwater drowning.
