AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) - A gathering Thursday morning in Amory focused on a better understanding of the new federal health care law.
Representatives with the local Healthcare Solutions Group hosted the free event at the East Amory Community Center.

Residents were able to ask questions about the Affordable Care Act on such topics as enrollment deadlines, penalties, subsidy qualifications, and other unknowns.

Those in the insurance business say both young and older people want to know how this new law will affect them.

Michelle Blansett with Healthcare Solutions Group said, "They want to know if they have to get it and, if they do, how do they get it. If they don't get it they want to know what's going to happen to them. Those are the main concerns."

Healthcare Solutions Group says it's open to doing similar presentations with anyone in the area that might be interested in learning more about the new health care law.
