AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) -- An expansion at NauticStar, LLC in Amory is expected to create 30 new jobs.
On Wednesday, Gov. Phil Bryant and company officials announced the Amory facility is expanding to accommodate the production of boats larger than 28 feet.
Before the company only manufactured bay boats, deck boats and offshore boats ranging from 18 to 25 feet.
Approximately 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space will be added to the facility during the project.
The expansion represents a company investment of more than $450,000.
NauticStar President Phil Faulkner says the expansion comes from a market demand with the saltwater offshore fishing boat sector.
The Mississippi Development Authority, City of Amory and Monroe County provided assistance for the project.
