HAMILTON, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Monroe County man has pleaded not guilty to charges he received disability payments he was not entitled to receive.

A two-count federal indictment accuses Timothy Lee Byrd, 49, of Hamilton with knowingly taking Social Secuity Administration's Disability Insurance Benefits.

The federal indictment says Byrd received nearly $91,000 from the government.

Byrd is accused of misuse of a social security number as part of the indictment.

He made an initial appearance in U. S. District Court on Thursday and agreed to waive an arraignment hearing and plead not guilty.

Byrd is currently free on a $10,000 bond.
