MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol said weather is to blame for an 18-wheeler overturning on Highway 45 Alternate Wednesday.
The accident three miles south of Shannon blocked traffic in both directions during the afternoon drive home for many people.
Trooper Criss Turnipseed said James Watkins of Verona was heading north in an empty tractor-trailer when a gust of wind flipped it.
Watkins suffered minor injuries.
