AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) -- With February being National Heart Health Awareness Month, local hospitals are doing what they can to help educate people to be proactive about their health.

Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center held its annual Lady in Red Fashion Show, featuring local women modeling this year's spring fashions from clothing shops in Monroe County.

"It's a good way for our employees there at the hospital and our clinics to participate in this event, and it gives a different flavor to their workday," said Dwayne Blaylock, the CEO of Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center.

Following the fashion show, a local physician addressed the audience about the most common factors affecting women's heart health.
