MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - Monroe County authorities say they acted on a tip on Wednesday afternoon and that has led to a new development in the search for a missing Monroe County man.
Sheriff Cecil Cantrell tells WTVA.com that his department received a tip around 3:45 about the case of William Harold Wright, 69, of Monroe County.
Wright has been missing since around the middle of April.
The sheriff says they discovered a Ford Ranger Edge pickup truck submerged in the Buttahatchee River about 300 yards east of the Cochran Bridge.
Sheriff Cantrell says authorities also did discover the body of Mr. Wright.
Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley says the autopsy results show the cause of death was drowning.
