ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- A woman from Memphis is now behind bars in Aberdeen, following a traffic stop on Friday, August 9.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, deputies, along with agents with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, arrested Tammy Vanessa Thomas, 38, following a stop at a safety checkpoint on Highway 45 Alt. and Strong Road.
Authorities say they recovered about four pounds, 11 ounces of marijuana from the vehicle Thomas was driving.
She is charged with possession of marijuana with intent.
No bond has been set at this time.
She is being held at Monroe County Detention Center.
