MONROE CO., Miss. (WTVA) --Investigators with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department are looking into a case of animal neglect.
According to authorities, Thursday morning, deputies responded to a residence on Old Highway 41.
When they arrived, deputies say they found a large number of animals living in deplorable conditions.
The owner of the animals, Bill Ray Neese, Sr. 65, of Wren, was arrested and charged with animal neglect.
The animals were rescued by the Amory Humane Society where they will receive medical care.
Animals rescued from location were a mare, one calf, two dogs, six cats, 20 birds and three goats.
Neese is currently being held in the Monroe County Detention Center.
