MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- An Amory man has died from injuries he received in a one-vehicle wreck Saturday evening, according to the Monroe County coroner.

It happened just before 6 p.m. on Highway 8 East near Greenwood Springs Road.

Coroner Alan Gurley said Albert Welsey Hall, 39, was driving east in a minivan when he lost control and ran off the roadway.

Hall was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo where he died a short time later.

Hall's seven-year-old son was a passenger in the vehicle and was airlifted to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis. His condition is unknown. Gurley said the child was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Gurley said Hall's death was caused by multiple trauma. He was not wearing a seat belt when the accident took place.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
