KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WTVA) -- The Tennessee Valley Authority has created a new Regional Energy Resource Council to advise the federal agency on current and future energy activities.
TVA President and CEO Bill Johnson says 19 people selected offer the agency a broad range of backgrounds including industry, business, consumer, education, community leadership, and environmental needs.
The group will become a formal channel to provide views on energy policy and input and perspective on TVA's energy resources.
Jason Keith of Starkville and Dave Hrabosky of Columbus are among those selected for the board.
Council members will serve without compensation for a two-year term.
Its first meeting is tentatively scheduled for October.
The board will meet two times each year.
