TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) _ Renasant Bank is warning consumers to be on the lookout for attempts to steal account information through email and telephone contact.

The company has sent a notice saying they have received reports of two authentic looking emails sent to people that appear to be from the bank.

The notice say one email, sent to customers and non-customers, ask for the person to log-on to a fake Renasant Bank website in an attempt to get the information.

The other email asks individuals to take part in a survey and supply a debit or credit card number to receive $50.

Renasant officials say people should not respond to the emaiis.

The bank also says they have reports of recorded phone calls claiming to be from Renasant asking for personal information, including debit and credit card numbers.

The bank reminds people they should never give out any personal banking information over the phone, through email or online.

As a rule, banks will never ask for your personal information via email or through a recorded call.

Renasant says it is working with authorities to stop identity theft and says no bank systems have been compromised.

If you believe you have accidentally given information out or have any questions concerning these fraudulent attempts to your personal banking information, you can contact Renasant Bank at 1-877-367-5371 or contact your personal Renasant banker immediately.
