Postal carriers want to Stamp Out Hunger

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- This weekend, the U. S. Postal Service and National Association of Letter Carriers are asking for your help to end hunger.

They are joining together to host the 22nd Annual Stamp Out Hunger collection event on Saturday, May 10.

Postal customers are asked to leave non-perishable food items at their mailbox for collection.

The food collected with be donated to food pantries in their local communities.

In Tupelo, St. Luke Food Pantry will receive any donations picked up by postal employees.

Other north Mississippi Post Offices taking part include Amory, Baldwyn, Batesville, Belmont, Biloxi, Booneville, Columbus, Courtland, Corinth, Dumas, Falkner, Fulton, Golden, Grenada, Holly Springs, Iuka, Kosciusko, Louisville, New Albany, Noxapater, Oxford, Ripley, Sardis, Starkville, Steens, Walnut and Water Valley.
