WASHINGTON (WTVA) -- A new report says there will be plenty of job openings in the United States from now through the year 2020.
The Georgetown University Center for Education and the Workforce says their research shows nearly 55 million job openings will be created nationally.
The report says 24 million will be newly created jobs and 31 million will come from baby boom retirements.
The report says Mississippi will see nearly 473,000 openings and Alabama will see 790,000 openings.
The study says most jobs will require some form of post-secondary education.
The report says employers will also look for people with good communication and analytical skills rather than the physical skills traditionally associated with manufacturing.
The biggest segment growths are forecast in healthcare, science and technology, and community services.
