LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- A man on trial for a Lowndes County murder has heard his fate from the jury.
They convicted George Strickland, 49, for manslaughter stemming from the shooting death of Christopher Wayne George, of Steen, in 2011.
Prosecutors said Strickland shot the victim multiple times, left the scene and was arrested shortly after at a nearby business.
He also faced charges of shooting at Patricia George, Christopher George's wife, during the incident.
Strickland will be sentenced next week.
