STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- The human mascot for Mississippi State during Thursday night's Egg Bowl remains hospitalized after undergoing surgery following a sideline accident.

Athletic Director Scott Stricklin tweeted Michaela Mills suffered a broken leg.

USA Today reports Mills was struck by a camera cart being used for ESPN's coverage of the game.

The report says Mills was carted off the field on a stretcher, but was still in the mascot's uniform as she left the stadium.

Published reports say Mills underwent surgery to treat the injury.

She is one of five people who split time in the Bully costume according the the school's "Spirit Group" webpage.
