TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- According to WTVA Weather Authority's John Dolusic, we will be unseasonably cool on this Friday. Most high temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s. Normally this time of year, we should be in the lower 90s for high temperatures.

John says we have a slight chance to see a few isolated thunderstorms. According to John, they could "get a little on the hefty side" when it comes to gusty winds. Most of Mississippi and Western Alabama will continue to see some rain throughout the day and into the overnight hours.

Weather Authority forecast has most of the rain and thunderstorms moving out of the area Saturday morning, leaving the area with partly to mostly sunny skies later in the day.

John says normal temperatures will return as early as the late weekend and continue into early next week. This means more highs in the 90s and a heat index around 100 (if not higher at times).
