COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) — Two women are under arrest on drug charges following a traffic stop in Columbus Thursday.
The Lowndes County Sheriff's Narcotics Division says Kixxie Evans of Laurel and Michelle Pounds of Forest had illegal drugs in their vehicle next to the Food Giant on Browder Street.
According to law enforcement, agents seized approximately $30,000 of crack cocaine, $6,000 of marijuana and more than $1,600 in cash.
Evans and Pounds are each charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
A 13-year-old and a 9-year-old were in the vehicle during the search.
They are now in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
