COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- The son of the Noxubee County sheriff has been arrested on drug charges.
Lowndes County authorities say a deputy made a traffic stop on Akem Olajuwon Grasseree, 25, of Macon Monday morning because the vehicle did not have a tag.
Deputies say they received consent to search the vehicle and found a gram of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana inside.
Grasseree was taken to the Lowndes County jail and charged with felony possession of cocaine and several misdemeanor charges, including possession of marijuana.
Authorities say they have seized the vehicle, a Chevrolet Sequoia.
A second person inside the vehicle was not charged.
Grasseree is currently free on a $5,000 bond.
