OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- A federal judge has rescheduled the sentencing hearing for a Columbus man on child pornography charges.

Noel Sumrall, 67, pleaded guilty to one count of the indictment in March of this year.

Earlier this month, his attorney asked a judge to delay his sentencing hearing set for July 15.

The motion says an expert needs to review additional information to help determine Sumrall's "propensities for child sexual abuse and possible diagnosis of his proclivities."

The information on Sumrall's "danger to the community and likelihood of recidivism" will be provided to the court and probation services.

The judge set the new hearing date for July 29 at 1:15 p.m. in U. S. District Court in Oxford.

Sumrall is currently serving a five-year sentence on state charges of exploitation of a child at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility.
