COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- Columbus police stopped a burglary in progress at a local home on Friday.

Police say they responded to a call at a residence on 27th Street North around 4 p.m.

At the house, police noticed a broken glass door and found Glaster Smith, 29, inside the residence.

Smith was charged with burglary of a dwelling.

His bond was set at $5,000.

Police say Smith is scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2014.
