COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- The next director of Main Street Columbus will take over the job on December 10.
The board announced the hiring of Nickie Nicholson on Wednesday.
Nicholson moved to Columbus earlier this year after working in education and the arts, as well as serving as a spokesperson for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The Atlanta, Georgia native takes over for Amber Brislin, who announced she was stepping down in September.
Brislin will work with Nicholson until the end of the year.
Brislin plans to remain in Columbus and will continue to work with Main Street Columbus as a volunteer and consultant for future events.
