OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- A man arrested last July in Lowndes County for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver has pleaded guilty to federal charges in the case.

Federal court documents show Steven B. Cathey, 33, of Byhalia pleaded guilty to a one count federal indictment of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

In July of 2012, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics reported an MHP trooper pulled over a car for speeding on Highway 45 in Lowndes County.

They say a search of the vehicle uncovered three ounces of cocaine with a street value of nearly $10,000.

Authorities say they found over 3 ounces of cocaine with a street value of $10,000 during a search.

Cathey will be sentenced at a later date.
