COLUMBUS AFB (WTVA) -- OSHA investigators spent the day at Columbus Air Force Base investigating the death of a civilian sub-contractor on Tuesday.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant tells WTVA.com Hubert Layman McBrayer, 64, of Guin, Alabama died after coming into contact with a high-voltage power line.
Merchant says McBrayer, a retired Alabama Power employee, was in a bucket truck about 40 feet off the ground when the accident happened.
He says McBrayer and another man were working on a project at the base.
Merchant says all the required safety equipment was in use at the time of the accident.
