COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Columbus man faces burglary charges after authorities say he was caught in the process of breaking into camp houses in the county.

Chief Deputy Mark Miley says Willie Rainer, 19, is charged with four counts of burglary.

He says Rainer was arrested after a search warrant was served at his home.

Miley says the investigation began after someone stopped Rainer from leaving an area where four buildings had been broken into.

The person fired one shot into the air, but Rainer ran into the nearby woods.

A four-hour manhunt failed to locate him, but authorities did find his car stuck in a field.

They found items from the burglaries in the car and lying in the field.

Miley says the investigation continues, and Rainer is expected to be charged with more burglaries.

He also says more arrests are expected.
