COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Columbus man is facing drug charges following a weekend check of a suspicious vehicle.
Authorities say Kelvin Larando Robinson, 38, of Highway 373 in Columbus and another man were sitting in a vehicle next to the Dollar General Store on Main Street in Columbus Sunday night.
An agent with the Columbus Police Department Narcotics Unit noticed the vehicle and stopped to investigate.
Authorities say he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and called for other officers to assist him.
CPD reports a search of the vehicle turned up four ounces of marijuana, pills, scales, cash, and bullets inside a backpack.
No weapon was found in the car.
Robinson was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
The passenger in the car was issued a citation after authorities found a small bag of marijuana in his pocket.
