COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Lowndes County Sheriff's Department says two Georgia residents were arrested for trafficking heroine into the Golden Triangle area Monday.

Narcotics officers say Jami Wallace, 19, and Michael Pamfilis, 24, both of Atlanta, were charged after a traffic stop on Highway 182 in Columbus.

A search of their vehicle resulted in the seizure of an undisclosed amount of alleged heroin and more than $7,000.

Wallace and Pamfilis were charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Both subjects were transported to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.

They are awaiting a bond hearing.
