TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Tupelo-based CREATE Foundation is expanding their service area to include Lowndes County.

CREATE Foundation President Mike Clayborne says Lowndes County becomes the 17th county they will be able to offer support in the form of charitable giving opportunities.

CREATE will also have opportunities for that county to participate in education support activities.

CREATE is offering a challenge grant to the Lowndes County's economic development organization called the LINK.

The grant is $100,000.

This announcement was held Thursday morning at the Columbus Country Club building.

WTVA's Susan Parker is getting reaction to the announcement.  You can follow her updates on Twitter @susanwtva.

For a complete wrap, watch Susan explain what it all means, on WTVA News at 6:00.
