CAFB Colonel leaves for new post

CAFB, Miss. (WTVA) -- Col. Matt Isler, 14th Flying Training Wing vice commander, is being transferred to the Pacific Air Forces Command in Haiwaii.

Colonel Isler has served at Columbus Air Force Base since July of 2011.

His last day in Columbus will be March 8th.

Colonel Isler handled day-to-day operations of base support functions and mission activities.

In his new role as Executive Officer to the Commander, Col. Isler will work with U. S. Air Force operations covering half the globe.

Those operations include 45,000 Airmen who serve primarily in Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Alaska, and Guam.

Col. Howard McArthur from Scott AFB, Illinois has been selected to replace Col Isler. 

Colonel McArthur will arrive at Columbus AFB this summer following Pilot Instructor Training at Randolph AFB, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.
