VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Authorities have released the name of a man killed after a Friday night shooting at a Verona apartment complex.
Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green said Jeya Suppiah, 46, of Verona, died of an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Green said Suppiah was the owner of the apartment complex and maintained an office in a house next to the apartments on Raymond Avenue.
After responding to a "shots fired" call Friday night, Verona police discovered Suppiah's body.
Green said another individual remains in satisfactory condition at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Verona Police Chief Anthony Anderson said they had no leads on a suspect nor motive at this point in the investigation.
Anderson speculated Friday night that it could have been an armed robbery and possible hate crime, but that has not been confirmed.
Green said an autopsy will be conducted on Suppiah's body Saturday.
