BALDWYN, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two people have died following an accident in Baldwyn Saturday afternoon, according to the coroner.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green said the accident took place at the corner of Pratts/Friendship Road and Highway 145 at approximately 3 p.m.

Green said the driver, 59-year-old Deborah Hill of Baldwyn, died at 8:34 p.m. Saturday. Her granddaughter, 11-year-old Montana Roberts, died at the scene.

Green said it appeared Hill was hit by a car coming toward Highway 145 that never stopped at the stop sign. The resulting hit pushed the car into oncoming traffic.

Both Hill and Montana Roberts were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the Baldwyn Police Department.
