TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Tupelo Furniture Market is getting set for the annual fall market next week and officials say its shaping up to be a busy event.
Market president Kevin Seddon says pre-registrations for new and international retailers is up nearly 32 percent over previous markets.
He says they are excited about the numbers, which he says are the result of a marketing effort started after the February market with a review of customer databases and identifying areas where improvement was needed.
Seddon says they developed a plan and the results were somewhat surprising.
Nearly 400 manufacturing companies are registered to show their products in nearly 2.5 million square feet of exhibition space.
170 of those plan to offer "Tupelo-only" specials to buyers who purchase on-site during the market.
The market gets underway August 14 and runs through August 17.
