TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- Tupelo firefighters continue to monitor the scene of a fire near Crosstown Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire around 6:00 a.m. at the building on Rankin Boulevard Extended.
Authorities say the building contained large rolls of paper.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of firefighters arriving at the scene.
They say a crane will be used to remove the remaining rolls from the building.
There were no injuries reported and the structure is a total loss.
"Anytime you have a vacant building, anything that's not occupied, there's a good chance that the fire will get a big head start on it because you don't have an alarm system or anyone to notice the fire. Of course, being at night time like it was, there's always a chance for a delay for 911 being notified of the fire," said Scott Morgan of the Tupelo Fire Department.
