ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- An early Sunday morning accident in Aberdeen leaves one person dead and another injured.
Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley said Jessica Sheree Jones, 27, of Tupelo and another person were traveling north on Highway 45 when they lost control of the vehicle at approximately 1:15 a.m.
Gurley said the vehicle ran through the median, crossed the southbound lane and flipped, ejecting Jones and the other person.
It happened about a half-mile south of the Highway 8 and Highway 45 intersection.
Jones was found dead by a bystander shortly after it happened. The other person, whose name has not been released, was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
The accident remains under investigation by the Monroe County Coroner's Office and Aberdeen Police Department.
Gurley said it's not clear at this point who was driving the vehicle, but it belonged to Jones.
