TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — The president of Blue Mountain College was this week's featured speaker for the Rotary Club of Tupelo.
The key topics were the vision for growth and the commitment to providing a Christian higher education for students.
Also discussed were several new initiatives like the construction of a sportsplex, phase two of the education building and the renovation of a Victorian home into an alumni center and welcome house.
With an increase in enrollment expected, the college is also looking at possibly expanding on-campus housing.
"We were almost at capacity this fall, even with 512 students," said Barbara McMillin, president of Blue Mountain College, "roughly half of those being residential students. But so we will need to very soon move toward the addition of housing in order to accomodate any growth."
Blue Mountain College has several old buildings on campus that can be refurbished for housing.
The college is aiming for 600 students for this year's fall enrollment.
