Local book fair helps fund school's media center

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- Once a year, elementary schools in the Tupelo Public School District hold book fairs.

This week, Joyner Elementary is holding its annual book fair.

Students have the opportunity to purchase books at a reduced price.

New this year are books in the categories of cooking and science. There is even some posters and other accessories on sale.

Proceeds raised benefit the school's media center and the students say they enjoy shopping and giving back to their place of learning.
"I like the book fair because it allows us to give back to our school," said Chandler Nettles, student. "I like the book fair because it gives us chance to renew books," said Connor Collins, student. 

The books come in from Scholastic and will be on sale till the end of the week.
